Research Communication Conclave 2025: Bringing Research into Action

Updated: Aug 22

A very common question asked among researchers and academicians is, “How do we make research matter beyond classrooms, labs, or journal pages?” or “How do we tell our stories so that they inspire action, shape policy, or simply spark curiosity in the wider world?”

These are the questions at the heart of the Research Communication Conclave (ResComm 2025), to be held at Ashoka University from 17–19 December 2025.

The conclave is organised by the Research and Development Office together with the HDFC Library. It is more than just another academic gathering. It’s a three-day space where researchers, academics, students, and professionals come together to learn, experiment, and reimagine how we communicate knowledge.

Why does this matter?

The theme for the conclave this year is "Bringing Research into Action." In a time when information spreads at lightning speed and public trust in expertise is constantly tested, the theme feels especially urgent and relevant. In the present scenario, being able to share research clearly and accessibly is no longer optional — it’s essential.

What to expect?

ResComm 2025 has been designed as a hands-on, practice-driven event. Instead of long lectures, you’ll find yourself immersed in workshops, discussions, and feedback sessions where you can:

  • Learn to tell your research story in ways that connect with real people

  • Explore tools for visualisation, analytics, and even AI in research communication

  • Understand ethics and intellectual property in sharing your work

  • Build skills in grant writing, manuscript preparation, and cross-disciplinary communication

From Storytelling for Research Impact to Scientometric Studies using Open Source Tools, the sessions will help participants — whether students, faculty, research managers, librarians, or professionals — leave with concrete skills and confidence to share their work.

Beyond the event

At its core, ResComm reflects Ashoka University’s commitment to a research culture that is interdisciplinary, impactful, and socially engaged. The conclave aspires to not only build individual skills, but also spark long-term networks and collaborations that carry forward well beyond the conclusion of the conclave in December 2025.
